In a world filled with challenges, it’s heartening to witness individuals who dedicate their lives to
making a positive impact. We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our very own
Executive Director, Alessandra Medri, for being chosen as the recipient of the United Nations of
Broward County Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Leaders Award. This prestigious
honor recognizes her outstanding efforts in advancing SDG #15: Life on Land.

SDG #15: Life on Land – A Vital Mission

The United Nations has outlined 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), each addressing a
critical aspect of global well-being. SDG #15, Life on Land, stands as a testament to the urgent
need to protect, restore, and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems. It calls for
the responsible management of forests, combating desertification, halting and reversing land
degradation, and preventing biodiversity loss.

At its core, SDG #15 speaks to our collective responsibility to safeguard the planet's terrestrial
habitats and the myriad species that call them home. It is a mission grounded in preserving the
delicate balance of life on Earth, ensuring that our future generations inherit a world teeming
with biodiversity, thriving ecosystems, and sustainable landscapes.

United Nations SDGs: A Blueprint for a Brighter Future

sustainable future for all. These goals are a call to action, urging individuals, organizations, and

poverty and hunger to ensuring clean water and sanitation, and from promoting gender equality
to taking action on climate change.

Each SDG represents a critical facet of our global agenda, and Alessandra Medri’s recognition
